How to brief a private label luggage programme
A useful private label brief makes the product and the commercial requirements clear enough to review together. It does not need a finished design, but it should identify what is essential and what can change.

Define the product and the customer
Explain who will buy the range, where it will be sold and how it fits your existing offer. State the sizes and construction you have in mind. If you are starting from a collection on this site, include its name as a reference rather than assuming every detail can be reproduced under your brand.

- Reference models or images, with the features you want to keep.
Separate essential changes from preferences
List the colour, logo placement, lining, fittings and packaging you would like reviewed. Different changes can have different production implications. A requirement should be confirmed against the specific platform before it becomes part of a product promise.

- Colour references and material requirements.
- Packaging and product-information requirements.
Make quantities and timing explicit
Give the intended quantities by model, size and colour, even if they are preliminary. State the date the goods are needed and whether it is fixed. Minimums and the schedule are confirmed for the programme; there is no universal MOQ or production lead time published here.
- Expected first order and possible repeat requirements.
- Desired sample-review date.
- Required delivery date and destination.
Agree the sample and approval process
Record what the sample must demonstrate and who will approve it. Keep a written list of the agreed changes before production. Request the applicable product documentation and commercial terms alongside the specification so that a design approval is not confused with approval of the whole order.
